Um 6 Uhr trafen wir uns f\u00fcr einen Rundgang durch die Altstadt. Trotz der zeitigen Stunde war schon ordentlich Beg\u00e4ngnis. Die Menschen besuchten Tempel und allerhand kleine G\u00f6tterfiguren und -steine zum Beten. Am Tempel l\u00e4uteten die Betenden Glocken und gingen eine Runde im Uhrzeigersinn um den Tempel herum. Farbe wurde an G\u00f6tterfiguren und der eigenen Stirn verteilt und kleine Opfergaben wie Blumen oder Obstst\u00fcckchen abgelegt. Das zog wiederum den Bedarf nach Obst- und Blumenh\u00e4ndlern nach sich. Und allgemein begann das Markttreiben &#8211; wer drei warme Mahlzeit am Tag mit frischen Zutaten kocht, muss fr\u00fch aufstehen und einkaufen. Das Gewusel in der Altstadt war wieder ein mal beeindruckend und wir konnten uns nicht sattsehen. Daf\u00fcr hatte sich das zeitige Aufstehen gelohnt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck. Mit dem Bus ging es nach Osten raus aus dem Kathmandu-Tal. Vorbei an Ziegeleien, Baustellen und Feldern fuhren wir zu einer 2-st\u00fcndigen Wanderung zum Namo Buddha Tempel. Hier leben etwa 200 M\u00f6nche. Der Tempel pr\u00e4sentierte innen gro\u00dfe, vergoldete Buddha-Statuen, die wir leider nicht fotografieren durften.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default in Richtung Taumadhi Square, um die heutigen Festivit\u00e4ten zu beobachten. Doch es war schon viel zu voll, sodass wir selbst nur aus der Ferne ein Tauzieh-Duell sahen und uns f\u00fcr die ruhigeren Gassen entschieden. Unser Mitreisender Olli tauchte in die Massen ein und schickte uns Videos. Heute stand das Duell um den Tempelwagen an. Zwei Bezirke versuchen mit hunderten jungen M\u00e4nnern den Tempelwagen in ihre Richtung zu ziehen. Wer den Tempelwagen bekommt, dem soll das Gl\u00fcck im kommenden Jahr hold sein. Dementsprechend hart und wild wird der \u201eKampf\u201c ausgetragen. Unser Guide hatte uns vorher schon gewarnt, dass wir der Masse nicht zu nah kommenden sollen. Denn auch wenn das Tauziehen heute mehr symbolischer Natur ist, war die Motivation weiterhin ungebrochen. Nach dem Olli mit der Masse umpurzelte, zog er sich schnell zur\u00fcck. Wir genossen derweil den Ausblick von einer Roof Top Bar hoch \u00fcber dem Pottery Square. Hier war der Name noch Programm. Tags\u00fcber lagern hier die T\u00f6pfereien zum Trocken, w\u00e4hrend auf dem selben Platz die Schornsteine f\u00fcr das Brennen der Tont\u00f6pfe und -sch\u00fcsseln rauchen. Abendessen gab es dann in einem Hinterhof Restaurant &#8211; 15\u20ac f\u00fcr uns 4 inkl.
