Um 100km um die Hokianga Bucht zu sparen, fuhren wir 15min mit der kleinen F\u00e4hre von Narrow nach Rawene. Kurz darauf kamen wir dann in den Waipoua Forest, Neuseelands gr\u00f6\u00dftem subtropischen Regenwald. Hier wachsen sehr viele von den einheimischen gigantischen Kauri B\u00e4umen. Schon allein die Fahrt auf der kurvigen Stra\u00dfe, die links und rechts immer wieder vom Regenwald zur\u00fcckerobert werden will, war wundersch\u00f6n. Staunen konnten wir auch am Tane Mahuta (Gott des Waldes).Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte und 2000Jahre alte Kauri Baum Neuseelands ist bombastische 52m hoch und hat 13m Umfang. Da l\u00e4uft man einfach so durch den Regenwald und pl\u00f6tzlich steht so ein Riese vor einem. Auch die \u201eFour Sisters\u201c, vier gro\u00dfe Kauris nebeneinander, \u00a0schauten wir uns an. Nachts standen wir in Dargaville auf einem Campingplatz und dann lie\u00dfen wir wieder viele Kilometer hinter uns, da wir am Ende noch eine Wanderung in den Waitakere Ranges, einem Regional Nationalpark westlich von Auckland, machen wollten. Wir \u00fcbernachteten auf dem Visitor Center zugeh\u00f6rigen Parkplatz. Zum (fast) Abschluss mal wieder ganz allein und mit wundersch\u00f6nem Ausblick, da der Parkplatz auf einer H\u00fcgelkuppe ist. Zuletzt sind wir dann noch wie gehofft den \u201eAuckland City Walk\u201c gelaufen. Der hei\u00dft nicht so weil er durch Aucklands City verl\u00e4uft oder einen tollen Ausblick darauf bietet , sondern zu Ehren des Auckland City Councils, das den Wald gesch\u00fctzt hat. Die eine Stunde durch urspr\u00fcnglichen Regenwald vorbei an riesigen Kauris, langen Lianen, Palmen, gr\u00fcnem Dickicht und Bachl\u00e4ufen war ein sch\u00f6ner Abschluss unserer
