Wir fuhren nach Nordwesten auf die Saddle Road zum Mauna Kea. Dieser ist wie der Schwester Vulkan Mauna Loa \u00fcber 13000 Fu\u00df hoch. Allerdings kommt man ohne Gel\u00e4ndewagen nur bis zum Besucherzentrum auf 2800m hoch. Und zurzeit ist wegen Schnee danach sowieso gesperrt. Dort oben war es gleich mal 10 Grad k\u00fchler und es wehte ein st\u00fcrmischer Wind. Wir erkletterten trotzdem einen nahen H\u00fcgel und hatten eine wunderbare Aussicht auf das Tal zwischen den beiden Vulkanen.<br \/>\nZur\u00fcck am Wasser war es immernoch sonnig und diesmal konnten wir den Bilderbuchstrand Manini Owali auch mal testen und nicht nur im Regen anschauen. Er war ziemlich voll, aber der Sand sehr hell und fein und das Wasser kristallklar. Die Wellen waren toll f\u00fcrs Boogie Boarden.
